Oberhausen has an ICE and IC train station: there are direct connections without a stopover from the cities of Amsterdam, Utrecht, Arnhem, Cologne, Frankfurt or Basel, for example. Oberhausen main station is also very easy to reach by regional express or S-Bahn from other ICE stations in the Ruhr region; changing trains is quick and does not require long waiting times.
