Lohrheidestadion

The Lohrheidestadion is an athletics sports facility in Wattenscheid and the stadium of the SG Wattenscheid 09 football club

The Lohrheidestadion is the home ground of the traditional football club SG Wattenscheid 09 and has an athletics facility that is used by the successful club TV Wattenscheid 01. Wattenscheid has already hosted the German Athletics Championships three times. The stadium, which was built in 1954, was extended and completely modernized and reopened in 2025. Adjacent to the Lohrheide is the Olympic training center, which has served as a training facility and communication point for top athletes since 1986.
