Rombergpark was laid out in 1822 in the style of an English landscape park.
Originally, Rombergpark belonged to the moated castle of Brünninghausen, which was destroyed during the Second World War. While only the former gatehouse remains of the castle (it is now used as a gallery), the extensive park still delights visitors today. In addition to an idyllic lake with seating and old trees, the Orchidee park café, the plant display houses, a dune landscape and seasonal highlights such as the cherry blossom avenue and the crocus field attract visitors. Dortmund Zoo is located in the immediate vicinity of the park.
