The city's main railway station

Dortmund Central Station is the most important station in the city of Dortmund and, with around 130,000 travellers a day, is one of the busiest long-distance stations operated by Deutsche Bahn. The junction station on the northern edge of the city centre has 16 platform tracks.
Underneath the main station, the Dortmund city railway has a station of the same name, which is served by four of the eight lines.
The station, which has around 200 long-distance trains, 500 local trains and over 300 S-Bahn trains every day, will be modernised by June 2024.
